Tonya Byous has served in the field of education and care for 26 years. She began her career as a classroom teacher in Early Head Start and Head Start and has held leadership roles, including Academy Director and Field Director for Brightside Academy, as well as Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Early Learning at The Centers. Tonya has also taught at the collegiate level at Cuyahoga Community College (East Campus) in the Department of Early Childhood Education and is a Certified Instructor for Conscious Discipline. She serves on the Board of Directors of OhioAEYC as the immediate past president. Tonya holds a Master’s degree in Education, is a Cleveland native, and enjoys music and spending time with family.
